"I celebrated my birthday dinner at Longet, and the overall experience was truly delightful. We had made a reservation in advance and were given a lovely table. What impressed me most was the thoughtfully comfortable room temperature perfect even in a dress, which is something I deeply appreciate in fine dining settings. As someone who has tried many French restaurants, I found the Beef Tartare nicely seasoned, preserving the freshness of the meat. The Scallops with green asparagus were beautifully executed definitely a standout dish. For dessert, I had a Crème Brûlée served with a scoop of sorbet, doubling as my birthday cake. The service was warm and attentive, and the ambiance of the restaurant was relaxed yet elegant. It’s a place where you feel both welcomed and cared for."

"Simply perfect. Busy, elegant, and wonderful. We had mourned the absence of Cafe Longet but its reincarnation as Longet is even better. A wonderful space that feels more like the upper east side than Venice . (I mean that as a compliment) Great, great great menu The triple take was cooked to perfection and my husband’s chicken was sublime. How often do you think of a chicken dish as sublime! A great wine list too / with some Very reasonably priced French reds too! And the delicious blueberry tart has returned It’s a joy"

"We live here on The Island. New! To The Island. From Sarasota With! That! Said! We try a new place every time we go to the village I want to go there tomorrow! Do not be standoff-ish walking in! We sat at the bar with wonderful knowledgeable bartender foodies Todd and Caroline Don’t wish to bore you, BUT I had THE BEST eggplant entree ever My friend wanted an easy meat thingy. So had a smash burger Star of her show? The fries (thus my photos) and her smash burger,of course Yum I will say. We had to ask the gracious hostesses if we could sit at the bar. (Difficult to see without pressing your face to the glass) Sorry if I am long winded. This is a must! On The Island"

"Don't miss the amazing restaurant. My wife and I just had a fabulous dinner. We started with some perfect oysters that had been selected by someone who knew what they were doing. Then we had a perfect scallop risotto and the incredible lamb shank. Both had world class sauces and were a total taste treat. This chef knows what he is doing. The service, ambiance and sound level were outstanding! Best restaurant in Venice. Perfect for a special meal or just when you want to enjoy really great food."

"Longet in Venice has the potential to be a great spot. The drinks are well made, the food is very good, and the atmosphere is lively. Todd and Armando behind the bar can be terrific hosts—friendly and engaging when they’re focused on you. However, the experience at times seems to depend heavily on how much you’re spending or who you appear to be. If you come in ordering multiple courses and bottles, the service is attentive and polished. But come in as a single guest just wanting a drink and an appetizer, and the experience changes noticeably—stale bread, slower service, and far less attention. A restaurant should treat every guest the same, whether they’re ordering a full dinner or just stopping in for a drink. When service becomes selective, it points to a management issue more than anything else. Consistency is what separates a truly great restaurant from one that simply looks the part."

"After a decade of reviewing restaurants, I truly believe that Longet is one of the BEST hidden gems that I have ever stumbled across. From the food to the service, it is truly one of a kind. The atmosphere as soon as you walk in is warm, welcoming, enjoyable. The staff greets you with a feeling that they want to instead of having to. They're engaged with you during the process of selecting drinks, dishes, all of it. And the food? Well, let me tell you that the food is absolutely incredible. The French braised short rib was the BEST of its style that I've EVER had, even in Europe. I promise you, if you're in the area and looking for a place to have an upscale dinner while not feeling like you're out of place, this is the place for you! Trust me."

"Longet gets everything right — from the atmosphere, to the outstanding service, and most importantly, the food. We began with the shrimp appetizer, which was fresh, full of flavor, and perfectly prepared. For the main courses, we chose the braised lamb shank and the beef rib Bourguignon, and both were exceptional. The lamb was incredibly tender and fell apart effortlessly, while the beef rib was rich, hearty, and cooked exactly as it should be. We finished with the crème brûlée, which was flawless. Simple, classic, and executed beautifully. The wine selection deserves special mention as well — excellent choices that pair wonderfully with the dishes. The service throughout the evening was warm, professional, and attentive, making the entire experience feel truly special. Top-tier food in a beautiful setting. One of the best meals we’ve had in a long time, and we’ll definitely be back."

"I've been here many times, it's a genuine French restaurant. French snails are a must-order every time and are delicious. Love their daily specials, I had the Israeli couscous salad today which was very healthy and delicious. The seared sea bass was also great. The servers are friendly and welcoming, and every time you dine here it's a wonderful experience."
